Ikelite Announces Housing for the Canon EOS R6 – DivePhotoGuide.com

Ikelite has unveiled its new housing for the Canon EOS R6, which was launched alongside its 8K-video-capable sibling, the flagship EOS R5. While the enthusiast-level full-frame mirrorless camera sports a 20MP sensor, as opposed to the R5’s 45MP affair, it shares the latter’s DIGIC X processor, Dual Pixel CMOS II AF system, image stabilization system, and 12fps burst shooting (with continuous AF). The EOS R6 is no slouch in the video department either, shooting 4K/60p internally (with a slight crop) at 10-bit 4:2:2.

Ikelite’s housing for EOS R6 shares all the bells and whistles of their housing for the more advanced camera: ABS-PC body with transparent back; Dry Lock (DL) port system; big control levers for shutter release and autofocus; and TTL exposure using one or two compatible Ikelite DS-series strobes (after fitting the optional DL5 DS Link TTL Converter). You can also manually trigger various brands of strobes (Sea&Sea, Inon, and Ikelite) out of the box. There’s an M16 port for an HDMI bulkhead, so you can connect an external monitor/recorder.

Shipping now, the housing is priced at $1,695.
